We have an awesome section here that needs some more love and attention: Our critique section. If you are like me, and always looking to improve in your chosen form of art, critiques are invaluable to you. I know they are to me. That is why we need more reviewers!
The benefits of critiquing others’ art:
Help another deviant improve, and avoid mistakes in the future. Help you improve your own art by looking for things to improve, thus making you think of the same things when working on your own pices. Build trust and friendships between you and other deviants. Help you to think about art in new and interesting ways. Gain exposure to your own work as well as helping others see the work you critiqued.The benefits of receiving critique:

How to give a Critique:
A Critique message, unlike a standard comment, has minimum qualifications in order to be sent to an Artist. A Critique must be a minimum of 100 words in length and the Critic must also submit a 1-5 star rating on each of the following qualities:
Vision – Does the artwork present or reflect a point of view, theme or idea?
Originality – Is the artwork fresh or new in its style, execution or approach? Is it something you haven’t seen before in its particular genre? Does it surprise you?
Technique – Was the artwork skillfully created? Does the artist exhibit advanced knowledge of the medium and/or bring special focus to the craft of the medium used.
Impact – Does the artwork resonate with you or evoke strong emotions? Does it make you think? Does it blow your mind?
Deviousness – An average rating based on your selections within Vision, Originality, Technique, and Impact.
Critique is designed to be a thorough evaluation of a Deviation on a number of different qualities. It is intentionally designed to inspire thoughtful and constructive feedback from committed Artists and Enthusiasts to fellow Artists requesting meaningful responses to their artwork. deviantART encourages a Fair Critique Policy for both Critics and Artists. Critiques are not intended as personal criticisms of behavior, politics or opinions of an Artist and should concentrate only on discussion and an evaluation of the artwork itself.
